Under the direction of Cindy Gember we strive to offer a Youth and Family Ministry that maximizes its impact on our community by creating an atmosphere for families to discover, grow and then model their Christian faith to others.

Our mission is to foster a genuine faith in Jesus Christ and encourage them to grow as lifelong disciples. We equip them with the tools to minister to others, while providing an opportunity for families to work towards the common goal of devoting their lives to God. We strive for excellence, as that is what the Lord asks of us, in all we do.

It is wonderful to see our vision and mission come to life through the actions of the youth at St. James. We are all “BFF’s” – Best Faithful Friends to all!

We offer children K-6 and 7-12 an opportunity to join us for age appropriate devotions, faith-building exercises, fellowship and fun! Both junior and senior youth meet weekly on Sunday night at 6:00 P.M. In addition to weekly Sunday School, the K-6 group meets monthly for a meal, a lesson, games and a craft. Of course parents are encouraged to join us for the latter.

We strive to guide and encourage the youth to use their spiritual gifts in order to participate in certain segments of the worship team as well as other leadership roles. Taking on these responsibilities has been a key component in the leadership training of this ministry. Greeting, ushering, scripture reading and sound/video technology are a few of the areas where they are providing service.

The youth ministry at St. James focuses a great deal of our energy on providing the youth with opportunities to become involved in community service projects. We continue to move forward as servants of Christ by serving others.

We persistently follow the ever-changing, faith-building path, on a spiritual journey towards a fuller understanding of the truth in God’s Word, so that we can bravely and boldly proclaim it to others! Questions? Contact Cindy Gember at 317-462-7340 ext. 202, or email online.
